A military tank is main topic of my art works. I was fascinated by its appearance and movement. I would like to talk about the fact that the weapon has proportion(symmetry) and compactness in this series of art work.


  Weapon's design has been developing to increase efficiency and survival rate with the history of humanbeings. Even if it has a beautiful appearance, it will be destroyed through its destruction behavior - it was created to destroy.

  Caterpillars are linked together at the each side of tank. I drew caterpillars with Rhino and printed the model with Dimension SST 1200 3D printer. Since the price was extremely expensive($5.50 per square inch), I tried to duplicate these samples with silicone mold.

The first step is to make mold case.

I used Oomoo 30 silicone and Smooth-cast 300 urethane plastic for casting.

Main structure is consists with 1/4 inch acrylic transparent plate.

Tank 2012 has an ultrasonic distance sensor in its front. I programed that the sensor calculates the distance between tank and people. Once the person move away from certain distance. The tank follows people in front it.
